Christine Sun Kim 김 크리스틴 선: TIME100 Art

Christine Sun Kim has been named to TIME’s TIME100 Art list in the “Innovators” category, one of its four sections: Leaders, Titans, Icons, and Innovators. TIME100 Art is a new list from TIME dedicated to influential figures in the art world.

TIME’s Kate Brown noted, “Christine Sun Kim has become a defining voice of her generation by making visible society‘s relationship to sound—and the realities of Deafness. With humor and poignancy, Kim dismantles assumptions about hearing, language, and access through musical notation, infographics, and American Sign Language.”

〈TIME〉의 케이트 브라운은 김 크리스틴 선을 “사회가 소리와 맺는 관계, 그리고 농인 됨의 현실을 가시화하며 동시대의 주요한 작가로 자리매김한 인물”로 소개하며, “작가는 유머와 예리한 감각을 바탕으로 음악 기보법, 인포그래픽, 미국 수어(ASL)를 통해 듣기, 언어, 접근성에 대한 통념을 해체한다”고 전했다.
