Christine Sun Kim 김 크리스틴 선: Hyundai Translocal Series: Via Satellite

Hyundai Translocal Series: Via Satellite, featuring Christine Sun Kim, will unfold across the Nam June Paik Art Center in Korea and the Pinacoteca de São Paulo in Brazil. The exhibition runs at the Nam June Paik Art Center from November 5, 2026, through March 28, 2027, followed by the presentation at the Pinacoteca de São Paulo from November 28, 2026, through April 18, 2027.

Co-organized by the Nam June Paik Art Center and the Pinacoteca de São Paulo, the exhibition brings together four artists, including Christine Sun Kim, to explore how different beings and worlds form relationships with one another. Drawing on Nam June Paik’s pioneering practice of transcending physical distances to form new relationships and imagine new possibilities, the exhibition considers connection and communication across distinct regional and cultural contexts. Continuing her recent Mind series, Christine Sun Kim presents two newly commissioned large-scale murals: Mind Land Mass (2026) at the Nam June Paik Art Center and Land Mind (2026) at the Pinacoteca de São Paulo. 
 

김 크리스틴 선이 참여하는 《현대 트랜스로컬 시리즈: 하늘의 잔물결을 따라》가 백남준아트센터에서 11월 5일부터 2027년 3월 28일까지, 상파울루 피나코테카 미술관에서는 2026년 11월 28일부터 2027년 4월 18일까지 순차적으로 개최된다. 

백남준아트센터와 상파울루 피나코테카 미술관이 공동 기획한 이번 전시는 김 크리스틴 선을 비롯한 네 명의 작가가 참여해 서로 다른 존재와 세계가 관계 맺는 방식을 탐구한다. 시공간의 경계를 넘어 새로운 연결과 가능성을 모색했던 백남준의 예술적 실천을 동시대적 관점에서 재조명하며, 서로 다른 지역과 문화적 맥락을 가로지르는 관계와 소통의 의미를 살핀다. 김 크리스틴 선은 최근 전개해 온 ‘마음’ 연작을 잇는 대형 벽화 신작 〈마음 땅 덩어리〉(2026)을 백남준아트센터에서, 〈땅 마음〉(2026)을 상파울루 피나코테카 미술관에서 선보인다.
