Christine Sun Kim participates in Festival d’Automne à Paris for the first time, presenting Forever Behind Now and L’esprit de l’escalier as part of a new series of large-scale works installed in the corridors of the Paris Métro and across the city’s streets. Drawing on the spatial dynamics of sign language, the works bring together hand configurations, movement, speed, and impact, while paying homage to American Sign Language and its rich history, shaped in part by French Sign Language.
Held annually from September to December, Festival d’Automne à Paris is a multidisciplinary festival dedicated to contemporary creation, bringing together more than 70 events across nearly 60 partner venues in Paris and Île-de-France. Kim’s works are on view at Gare RER Auber and Galeries Lafayette Haussmann Paris.
김 크리스틴 선이 Festival d’Automne à Paris에 처음으로 참여하며 파리 지하철 통로와 도시 곳곳의 거리에서 대규모 신작을 선보인다. 수어의 공간적 구조에서 출발undefined한〈Forever Behind Now〉, 〈L'esprit de l'escalier〉는 손의 형태, 움직임, 속도, 임팩트 등 시각적 소통을 이루는 핵심 요소들을 결합하며, 프랑스 수어의 역사와도 깊이 연결된 미국 수어의 풍부한 계보를 따라간다.
매년 9월부터 12월까지 열리는 Festival d’Automne à Paris는 동시대 창작을 조명하는 종합 예술 축제로, 파리와 일드프랑스 지역의 약 60개 협력 기관에서 70개 이상의 프로그램을 선보인다. 김 크리스틴 선의 작품은 RER 오베르역(Gare RER Auber)과 갤러리 라파예트 오스만 파리(Galeries Lafayette Haussmann Paris)에서 만나볼 수 있다.
