A group exhibition Décor·Décor: Living Room Arcade at Ilmin Museum of Art, featuring Kim Sung Yoon’s flower series, will close this Sunday. Hosted by ELLE Décor Korea and co-organized by ELLE Korea and Ilmin Museum of Art, Décor·Décor: Living Room Arcade centers around the concept of “Living Room” as both a private space and a space for encounters and rendezvous to showcase the works by renowned designers and artists from both domestic and international spheres and to reexamine the diverse lifestyles and the meaning of ‘home’ in today’s society.
In his two paintings, Roses in a Hutesa jar and Roses in Leffe glass, Kim incorporates the commercial logos of the food vials used as vases as part of his artwork—an olive glass jar from Hutesa and a beer glass from Leffe—thus reinterpreting the classical meaning of still life floral painting through the modern perspective.
김성윤의 꽃 연작 두 점을 만날 수 있는 일민미술관 전시 《데코 · 데코 Décor · Décor: 리빙룸 아케이드》가 이번 주 일요일을 마지막으로 막을 내린다. 『엘르 데코』 코리아가 주최하고 『엘르』 코리아와 일민미술관이 공동 주관한 《데코 · 데코 Décor · Décor: 리빙룸 아케이드》는 사적 공간이자 타인과 만남의 영역인 ‘리빙룸(Living Room)’을 주제로 삼아 최근 국내외에서 주목받는 디자이너와 미술 작가들의 작품을 선보이고, 오늘날 현대인의 다양한 라이프스타일과 집의 의미를 재탐색한다.
김성윤은 〈Roses in a Hutesa jar〉과 〈Roses in Leffe glass〉에서 화병으로 사용된 식료품 유리병의 상업 로고를 액자에 넣어 꽃 정물화의 고전적인 의미를 현대적인 개념으로 재해석한다. 〈Roses in a Hutesa jar〉에는 우테사(Hutesa)의 올리브 유리병이, 〈Roses in Leffe glass〉에는 레페(Leffe) 맥주의 유리잔이 화병으로 사용 되었다.
