MOON Kyungwon’s Promise Park Seoul (2021) is currently on view at Hoam Museum as part of its first special exhibition of collections, Y/OUR Nature. Promise Park, which has been in progress since 2013, is a platform of collective intelligence to unravel an urban city’s history and promote solidarity with people. Her third project, Promise Park Seoul(2021), after Yamaguchi, Japan, and Gwangju, Korea, pays attention to Yongsan Park in Seoul, which retains the scars and turbulences of the past. Moon converts the history and scenery of Yongsan into digital data and visualizes it into a woven carpet. With such an attempt, she connects the role of a park that becomes an artificial paradise and refuge in an urban environment with the function of a carpet that can be unfolded and folded. Y/OUR Nature will run through January 21, 2024.
호암미술관의 첫 소장품 특별전 《자연/스럽게》에서 문경원 작가의 〈프라미스 파크 서울〉(2021)이 소개되고 있다. 2013년부터 진행되어 온 <프라미스 파크>는 집단 지성의 플랫폼으로 도시 역사를 풀어내고 여럿의 연대를 도모하는 작업이다. 일본 야마구치와 한국의 광주에 이어 세 번째 프로젝트로 진행된 <프라미스 파크 서울>(2021)은 과거 상흔과 굴곡을 고스란히 간직한 용산 공원을 주목한다. 그는 용산의 역사와 풍경을 디지털 데이터로 바꾸어 직조 카펫의 짜임으로 변환, 도심 환경 속에서 인공 낙원이자 도피처가 되는 공원의 역할을 펼치고 접어서 옮길 수 있는 카펫의 기능과 연결시킨다. 전시는 2024년 1월 21일까지.
