Myoung Ho Lee 이명호: Savina Museum

In parallel with Myoung Ho Lee’s solo exhibition (no)thing at Gallery Hyundai, his museum exhibition Between or Beyond Act and Scene is also on view at the Savina Museum through December 13. 


While (no)thing highlights the expansion of Lee’s artistic practice through his Kiribati and Heritage series, Between or Beyond Act and Scene traces the development of his ongoing Photography-Act Project, initiated in 2004. The exhibition explores the fundamental questions that underpin Lee’s practice and the relationships between his various series. Alongside works from the artist’s major series and projects, the exhibition presents his concept map for the first time, together with a selection of drawings, photographs, and archival materials. These offer insight into the conceptual framework and creative processes that extend beyond the finished photographic image. 


Together, the exhibitions at Gallery Hyundai and the Savina Museum offer a broader and deeper understanding of Myoung Ho Lee’s artistic practice.

갤러리현대에서 열리는 《(no)thing》과 더불어, 사비나미술관에서도 이명호의 개인전 《장막과 장면 사이 혹은 너머》가 12월 13일까지 열리고 있다.

갤러리현대의 전시가 〈키리바시(Kiribati)〉와 〈헤리티지(Heritage)〉 두 연작을 중심으로 작가의 확장된 작업 세계를 조명한다면, 사비나미술관의 전시는 2004년부터 지속해 온 ‘사진-행위 프로젝트(Photography-Act Project)’를 중심으로 작업의 근간을 이루는 질문과 연작 간의 관계를 살피며 그 전개 과정을 조망한다. 주요 연작과 프로젝트의 작품을 비롯해 작가의 개념도를 최초로 공개하고, 그간의 드로잉과 사진, 아카이브 자료를 통합적으로 소개한다. 이를 통해 완성된 사진 한 장 너머에 존재하는 사유의 구조와 제작 과정을 입체적으로 살펴볼 수 있다.

갤러리와 미술관에서 열리는 두 전시는 이명호의 작업 세계를 보다 폭넓고 깊이 있게 이해하는 기회를 제공한다.
