Ayoung Kim 김아영 : Many Worlds Over

Jul 18, 2025

Ayoung Kim’s solo exhibition Many World Over at Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin will close on July 20. Many World Over is the artist’s first solo exhibition at a German museum, and also the first exhibition in Hamburger Bahnhof’s history to embrace new media art—marking a significant moment in shaping the museum’s future direction. Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath, directors of Hamburger Bahnhof, along with curator Charlotte Knaup, who organized the exhibition, described Many World Over  as more than a mere artistic project. They presented it as the museum’s first exhibition of 2025 with the intention of turning it into a platform for critical discourse on the role of technology in contemporary art and its impact on society. It showcases the artist’s key video installations and sculptures that span her diverse artistic practice, along with her recent work, Delivery Dancer’s Arc: 0° Receiver (2024).

This October, Ayoung Kim will present a spin-off of Delivery Dancer on the façade of M+ in Hong Kong, co-commissioned by M+ and the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney. In November, she will also showcase her works in her solo exhibition at MoMA PS1 and the Performa Biennial.
