The catalogue for 55 Years: A Narrative of Korean Modern and Contemporary Art – Part I has been published as E-Catalogues (Korean/English).
Organized to commemorate the 55th anniversary of its founding, the special exhibition 55 Years: A Narrative of Korean Modern and Contemporary Art presents major works by artists who have built long-standing relationships with Gallery Hyundai and become part of the history of Korean modern and contemporary art. It offers a moment to reflect on the past 55 years shared by Gallery Hyundai and Korean art history, while also contemplating their present and future trajectories. The exhibition, divided into two parts, was presented across both Hyundai Hwarang (8 Samcheong-ro) and Gallery Hyundai (14 Samcheong-ro).
The E-Catalogue is divided into two parts: Part I features Park Soo Keun, Lee Jung Seob, and Chun Kyung Ja—painters revered as national icons—alongside figurative artists who dedicated their lives to exploring Korean identity, as well as practitioners of experimental art and members of the Korean diaspora. Part II highlights key figures of Korean abstraction, including Kim Whanki, Rhee Seund Ja, and Yoo Youngkuk, and introduces a diverse range of Gallery Hyundai artists spanning generations from those born in the 1950s to the 1980s. Featuring a total of 76 artists who have walked alongside Gallery Hyundai and become key figures in the history of modern and contemporary Korean art, the E-Catalogue offers a comprehensive look into their major works, lives, artistic practices, and long-standing relationships with the gallery.

《55주년: 한국 현대미술의 서사》 1부 도록이 E카탈로그(국/영문)로 발간되었다.
개관 55주년을 기념한 특별전 《55주년: 한국 현대미술의 서사》는 갤러리현대와 오랜 인연을 이어가며 한국 근현대미술사의 역사가 된 작가들의 주요한 작품을 소개하고 갤러리현대와 한국 미술사의 지난 55년과 현재, 나아가 미래를 살펴보기 위한 자리이다. 전시는 1부와 2부 나누어 갤러리현대 본관(삼청로 8)과 신관(삼청로 14)에 걸쳐 개최했다.
E 카탈로그는 국민적 화가 반열에 오른 박수근, 이중섭, 천경자를 비롯하여 한국적 정체성을 찾기 위해 일생을 바친 구상 회화 작가들과 실험미술, 디아스포라 작가들을 소개한 1부와 김환기, 이성자, 유영국 등 추상 양식의 작가들과 1950년대생부터 1980년대생까지 다양한 세대의 갤러리현대 작가들을 선보인 2부로 나뉘어 구성했다. 갤러리현대와 역사를 함께 하며, 한국 근현대, 현대미술사의 주요한 작가가 된 총 76인의 작가들의 주요작과 생애, 작업 세계, 갤러리현대와의 인연 등을 살필 수 있다.
