Gallery Hyundai is pleased to showcase vintage prints and posters at the gallery’s Art Shop in conjunction with 55 YEARS: A Legacy of Modern & Contemporary Korean Art, a special exhibition commemorating the gallery’s 55th anniversary. They were produced on the occasion of exhibitions of artists who have been with Gallery Hyundai for the past 55 years, including Park Soo-keun, Chang Ucchin, Lee Jung Seob, Kim Whanki, Yoo Youngkuk, and Kim Tschang-Yeul, and unveil Gallery Hyundai’s history and archives while providing diverse viewpoints on the artistic heritage of modern and contemporary Korean art history.
The prints and posters at the art shop are publicly available for viewing and purchase, and most of them are rare vintages in limited quantities that were produced during the 1990s and had not been reproduced since. A new poster specially made to commemorate 55 YEARS: A Legacy of Modern & Contemporary Korean Art features Lee Jung Seob's Flowers and a Child (estimated to be made during his time in Busan). The Art Shop is located near the entrance of Gallery Hyundai on 14 Samcheong-ro.
갤러리현대는 개관 55주년 특별전 《55주년: 한국 현대미술의 서사》의 연계로 갤러리현대 아트숍을 오픈하며 지난 55년간 갤러리현대와 함께 했던 작가들의 당시 전시를 위해 제작된 판화와 포스터를 올 한해 동안 선보인다. 박수근, 장욱진, 이중섭, 김환기, 유영국, 김창열 등 각별한 인연으로 전시를 가졌던 작가들의 빈티지 판화와 포스터를 통해 갤러리현대의 역사와 아카이브 공개와 더불어 한국 근현대, 현대 미술사의 예술적 유산의 다채로운 시선을 제공한다.
아트숍에 전시되는 판화와 포스터는 누구나 관람과 구매가 가능하며, 대부분 1990년대 제작된 빈티지 작업들로 재제작되지 않는 한정 수량이다. 《55주년: 한국 현대미술의 서사》를 기념하여 특별히 제작된 이중섭의 〈꽃과 아동〉 (부산 시절로 추정) 작품 이미지가 담긴 포스터 또한 만나볼 수 있다. 아트숍은 갤러리현대 신관(삼청로 14) 입구 쪽에 위치해 있다.
