Seulgi Lee’s four new Blanket Project: U works are featured in a group exhibition With Art at the Nam-Seoul Museum of Art. The exhibition introduces sculptures, furniture, lighting, and other objects that are or can be associated with daily lives, exploring the possibilities of creatively perceiving the environment of this everyday life.

Seulgi Lee, who reinterprets traditional crafts and oral culture related to everyday life into contemporary art, presents four new works from her representative series, Blanket Project: U in the exhibition. These four new works - U: Laugh out loud while clapping one’s hands, U: Look forward to something as a crane stretching out its neck, U: A curled up frog, and U: Lick the outside of the watermelon convey the stories embedded in Korean proverbs through geometric forms using five cardinal colors in collaboration with master nubi artisans from Tongyeong. The exhibition runs until July 30, 2023.

이슬기 작가의 〈이불 프로젝트: U〉 신작 네 점을 서울시립 남서울미술관에서 열리고 있는 그룹전 《매일, 예술》에서 만나볼 수 있다. 《매일, 예술》은 반복되는 일상에서 창의적으로 생활 환경을 감각하는 방법을 발견할 수 있는 가능성을 모색하고자 기획되어, 조각, 가구, 조명 등 우리의 생활과 연관 되거나 관련지을 가능성이 있는 조형물을 소개한다.

전시에는 일상생활과 관련된 국내외 전통 공예와 구술문화를 동시대 미술로 재해석한 작품을 선보이고 있는 이슬기 작가의 대표적 연작 〈이불 프로젝트: U〉 신작 4점이 공개되었다. 〈U: 박장대소〉, 〈U: 학수고대〉, 〈U: 움츠리는 개구리〉, 〈U: 수박 겉핥기〉는 통영 누비장인과 협업하여 한국 속담에 담긴 이야기를 오방색의 기하학적인 형상으로 전달한다. 전시는 7월 30일까지 개최된다.
