A catalogue commemorating Kim Whanki's New York Period, Han Yong Jin and Moon Mi Aie is now released. Kim Whanki New York Times, Han Yong Jin, and Moon Mi Aie is an exhibition designed to was organized to commemorate the friendship among three artists who served as sources of strength to each other, overcoming all the loneliness and solitude of life as an artist in faraway New York during the 1960s and 1970s and channeling that power into art.
During Kim Whanki (1913-1974)'s New York period(1963-1974), a number of artists shared their philosophy on art and formed a context. Among them, sculptor Han Yong Jin (1934-2019) and painter Moon Mi Aie (1937-2004) joined Kim and his wife Kim Hyang-an on their artistic journey. The two couples were very close, sharing the joys and travails of living and working in New York while serving as sources of comfort and support to each other when times were tough.
The catalogue includes the works of three artists that are exhibited at the exhibition as well as an essay by Kim Hyungkook, honorary professor of Seoul National University, "A Story Like a Novel by Kim Whanki, Han Yong Jin, and Moon Mi Aie." The plates of the catalogues are: Kim's fifteen paintings of the New York era, which remove concrete from the screen and show complete abstraction, Han Yong Jin's fifteen stone sculptures, trimmed with minimal respect for the material and form of the stone, and Moon Mi Aie's fifteen paintings, delivering freedom and moderation at the same time.

《김환기 뉴욕시대와 한용진, 문미애》 展을 기념하는 도록이 발간되었다. 《김환기 뉴욕시대와 한용진, 문미애》展은 60-70년대 뉴욕이란 머나먼 이국 땅에서 예술가로서의 고독과 외로움을 함께 이겨내고, 그 힘을 예술로 승화시킬 수 있도록 서로에게 큰 힘이 되어준 김환기, 한용진, 문미애 작가의 우의(友誼)를 기념하기 위해 마련된 전시이다.
김환기(1913-1974)의 뉴욕 시절에는 다수의 후배들이 예술에 대한 철학을 공유하며 예맥(藝脈)을 형성하고 있었다. 그 중 부부 작가인 조각가 한용진(1934-2019)과 서양화가 문미애(1937-2004)는 67년에 본격적으로 뉴욕에 자리잡았고, 이후 김환기, 김향안 부부와 동고동락하며 가족 이상의 애정을 나누었다. 1974년 김환기가 작고한 이후에도 김향안 여사와 각별한 사이로 함께하였다.
도록에는 서로를 응원하며 각자의 예술을 발현한 3인의 전시작과 김형국 서울대 명예교수의 「뉴욕파 김환기와 한용진 ㆍ 문미애의 소설 같은 이야기」가 수록되었다. 도록에 수록된 작품은 화면에서 구체성을 제거하고 완전한 추상을 보여주는 김환기의 뉴욕시대 회화 작품 15점, 돌 자체의 재질과 형태를 존중하여 최소한의 손길로 다듬어낸 한용진의 돌조각 작품 15점, 자유로움과 절제가 동시에 나타나 전체적으로 균형 있는 화면을 이루는 문미애의 회화 작품 15점이다.
