Robert Indiana’s first large-scale retrospective in the UK, 《Robert Indiana: Sculpture 1958-2018》, opened in Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
Featuring 56 works including aluminum, bronze and wooden sculptures, along with paintings and prints, the exhibition unfolds Indiana’s six-decade-long career both outdoors and indoors at the Underground Gallery in the park. From the iconic LOVE (Red Blue Green) and the monumental ONE Through ZERO (The Ten Numbers) representing different stages of life, to the paintings and prints that have not been shown in the UK, the simplicity of the form carries powerful messages of love, acceptance and tolerance, and addresses social and political issues that are prevalent even today.
The exhibition runs until January 8, 2023.

‘미국의 기호 화가’ 로버트 인디애나의 대규모 개인전 《Robert Indiana: Sculpture 1958-2018》이 영국의 요크셔 조각공원에서 개최되었다.
본 전시는 영국에서 열리는 인디애나의 첫 대규모 기획전으로 알루미늄, 청동 및 나무 조각, 회화와 판화를 포함한 56점을 한 자리에서 살펴볼 수 있다. 작가의 60년에 걸친 작품 세계를 엿볼 수 있는 이번 전시는 공원 입구에 설치된 빨강-파랑-초록색의 〈LOVE〉와 숫자 ‘0’에서 ‘9’을 잔디 위에 일렬로 나열한 〈ONE Through ZERO (The Ten Numbers)〉 시리즈, 이전에 영국에서 보여준 적 없는 회화와 프린트까지 선보이며, 관객에게 알파벳과 숫자의 단순한 배열이 가지는 시각적인 효과와 그 안에 담긴 인권문제, 인종차별, AIDS 등에 관한 사랑과 화합, 관용의 메시지를 선사한다.
