Yang Jung Uk has gained renown in the art scene for his lyrical and synaesthetic works featuring sound, light, and movement. You can find an interview with him in GQ Korea's June issue.
“The Scenery of Dialogue series encompasses squabbles between my wife and I while decorating our home. If the bickering were seen from afar, however, it would look like a beautiful scene. In my works, plants, furniture, colours and dialogues are the subjects that embody selective circumstances outside and inside our house.”
On the subject of the mind of the artist, Yang describes the contemplation behind his Scenery of Dialogue series as akin to self-portrait. As such, trivial and delicate narratives of daily life become clues to understand and interpret his enigmatic works. Yang has been selected as a Paradise Art Lab artist for 2020 allowing him to explore new ideas. Paradise Art Lab is run by the Paradise Culture Foundation in order to support artists who fuse art and technology regardless of genres.

소리와 빛, 움직임이 동반된 서정적이며 공감각적인 작품으로 주목 받는 양정욱. 그의 인터뷰가 『GQ 코리아』 6월호에 실렸다.
“결혼하면서부터 시작한 ‘대화의 풍경’이란 시리즈는 집을 꾸미면서 말다툼하는 내용을 담은 작업이다. 그 모습을 미래의 우리가 멀리서 바라본다면, 아름다워 보이지 않을까 생각했다. 작업에서는 매번 식물, 가구, 색, 그 밖에 집 안팎에서 할 법한 선택적 상황을 동반한 대화의 풍경이 소재가 된다.”
양정욱 작가는 '예술가의 마음들'을 주제로 진행된 이번 인터뷰에서 삶과 예술에 관한 깊은 사색을 들려주며, <대화의 풍경> 시리즈를 자화상과 같은 작업이라 소개한다. 언제나 일상에서 발견한 소소하고 섬세한 ‘이야기’에서 출발하는 그의 수수께끼 같은 작품을 이해하는 실마리를 제공한다. 한편 그는 2020년 '파라다이스 아트랩' 작가로 선정되어 새로운 작업을 준비 중이다. 파라다이스문화재단에서 진행하는 '파라다이스 아트랩'은 장르에 경계를 두지 않고 예술과 기술을 융합하는 작가를 지원하는 프로젝트다.
