"Where, in What Form, Shall We Meet Again?" is the title of painter KIM Whan-Ki's the most important work and the title of Gallery Hyundai's exhibition of Kim Whan-Ki, Kim Tschang-Yeul and Lee Ufan. ("Where, in What Form, Shall We Meet Again?" is the last line of poem [At Eventide] by Kim Gwang-Sup.) Also it is a masterpiece that has won the Grand Prize Competition for Korean Art sponsored by the Hankuk Daily News in 1970. This exhibition will have on display Kim Whan-Ki's this painting, which bears this famous last line as its title. Visitors to the Gallery HYUNDAI will see the works created with dots, lines and water drops by Kim Whan-Ki and Kim Tschang-Yeul in Paris and New York, and by Lee Ufan in Paris and Japan. A walk through the gallery will be a walk into the hearts of these artists with all their passionate emotions rendered in simple dots and lines. The exhibition is in itself a documentation of how these artists bred art from their sense of alienation and nostalgia.

이 전시는 김환기의 대표작 <어디서 무엇이 되어 다시 만나랴>를 제목으로 삼았다. 1970년 한국일보 주최 [한국미술대상전]에서 대상을 수상한 <어디서 무엇이 되어 다시 만나랴>(김광섭의 시 '저녁에'의 마지막 글귀임)는 이번 전시에 특별 출품된다. 이 전시는 프랑스 파리와 뉴욕에서 김환기가, 뉴욕과 파리에서 김창열이, 일본과 파리에서 이우환이, 점과 선 또는 물방울로 그려낸 작업을 통하여 그들의 마음을 따라가보는 추체험이다. 고국을 떠나 외지에서 고향을 그리며 그들의 소외를 예술로 승화시킨 하나의 인간적 도큐멘터리이다.
