Myoung Ho Lee
(no)thing
Oct 29 – Dec 20, 2026
Gallery Hyundai
Gallery Hyundai is pleased to present (no)thing, a solo exhibition by Myoung Ho Lee, from October 29 to December 20, 2026. This exhibition marks Lee's first exhibition since Nothing, But in 2018. Over the past two decades, Lee has used photography to question the boundary between photography and painting, reproduction and reenactment, present and absence. The exhibition reveals how his work extends into place and into historical and social reality. In particular, Kiribati series (2026) documents the Pacific island nation whose land is at risk of disappearing as sea levels rise with climate change. Through a place that exists and yet holds the possibility of its own absence, the series reveals the paradox of presence and absence. Heritage series (2024–2026) captures the pagoda trees that have stood for more than two centuries within the Seonwonjeon area of Deoksugung Palace. Rooted in a single place, this natural presence evokes the flow of historical time from the Joseon dynasty to the present. Centered on these two series, the exhibition presents approximately thirty new works by Lee.
